Sustainability & social impact

Sustainability

FORE Partnership, Amicala, and Socius are all committed to tackling the climate emergency. St Christopher’s will be the first in a new generation of ultra-sustainable extra care communities. It will be net-zero carbon in operation, and no fossil fuels will be used on the property.

Innovations will include substantial solar electricity generation, electric heat pumps, low-carbon building materials, pioneering construction techniques, and other strategies to reduce both embodied and operational carbon. The plans are currently at an early stage, however we will be considering a variety of strategies to ensure our targets are met and sustainability is placed at the heart of the new development. Social impact

Alongside environmental sustainability, the team is equally focused on generating positive social value through the project. The development partnership will work alongside local organisations to help address systemic issues in the wider community, be that jobs and skills deficits, food poverty, poor educational outcomes, health and wellbeing, or other important concerns. We will work with the community and local organisations to identify relevant local issues and how we can provide support to achieve positive outcomes.

This genuine approach to creating thriving communities is deeply seated in the culture of each of the partners on the project. FORE Partnership is a certified B Corporation , committing the business to pursue purpose alongside profit and ensuring it meets the highest social and environmental standards. FORE’s partners Amicala and Socius, along with the wider project team, are entirely aligned with these values, ensuring the project will not only be best in class in terms of design, quality and sustainability, but that it will also have a positive impact on the local community.
