St Christopher’s site in Westbury Park to be used as temporary booster vaccination centre

The former St Christopher’s school will be used to administer Covid-19 booster vaccinations to the local Bristol community.

Book an appointment at St Christopher’s, Carisbrooke Lodge, Westbury Park, Bristol BS6 7JE.

Any questions about the St Christopher’s vaccine centre should be directed to 119. This is the NHS telephone number for people who have questions or need help with coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccinations, testing, NHS COVID Pass, and more.

Whiteladies Medical Group is running a Covid-19 booster vaccination clinic at the St Christopher’s site in Westbury Park, in light of the urgent need to deliver booster vaccinations to prevent the spread of the Omicron Variant.

The vaccine roll-out in St Christopher’s began on Tuesday 21st December, offering the Pfizer Covid Vaccination for booster doses only.

Both registered and unregistered patients are welcome to book by doing so on the Whiteladies Medical Group website, so long as it has been three months since the second Covid vaccination.

Whiteladies Medical Group is diverting as many staff as possible to its vaccine clinics with the aim of delivering another 15,000 vaccines before the end of the year.

Dr Lee Salkeld, Partner at Whiteladies Health Centre who is overseeing the roll-out at St Christopher’s said: “The clinic has run really smoothly and we have vaccinated some of the guardians who live on site.”

The St Christopher’s site was acquired earlier this year by ethical investor and B Corporation FORE Partnership in partnership with later living operator Amicala. Together with developer Socius the partners are bringing forward an ‘extra care’ development to the site: a form of later living that supports residents to age in place, easing strains on the NHS and social care sector.

The partners recently launched a public consultation with the local community to understand residents’ feedback on the development plans, which will run until 19th January 2022.

Lucinda Mitchell, Project Director at Socius, said: “We are pleased to be able to offer our support with the vaccination roll-out and help facilitate the Covid booster programme at our St Christopher’s site in Westbury Park. The Whiteladies Medial Group has done an excellent job in getting this organised so quickly, and we are delighted to see the site play an important part in keeping the local community safe.”
